Gen Z is leading old-school hobbies.

Jul 30 2026

Gen Z is leading old-school hobbies. It’s no secret right now that from birdwatching to jigsaw puzzles, young people are adopting typically loved-in-retirement hobbies. Some Gen Z have been hosting Mahjong parties, while 18-34-year-olds are now the most likely group to do a jigsaw puzzle on a monthly basis. Knitting and crocheting is also being taken over by Gen Z, with data showing that 73% of crocheters are 18-34-year-olds. And as YPulse has reported they’re taking up offline pastimes by regularly turning them into social outings and adding their own modern flair. (Upworthy)
