British Gen Z are struggling with early adulthood more than previous gens. According to an analysis of housing, employment, and wealth data by the BBC, people in their 20s are facing a tougher entry into adulthood than any other age group in the last half century. More than 40% of 25-year-olds now live with their parents, and home ownership rates are down by two thirds in 30 years because of how steep mortgages are. For twentysomethings, wages are also stagnant, making it difficult to build savings, while employment levels have also dropped because of frequent layoffs and the possible impacts of AI on the workforce.
