Welch’s Fruit Snacks is embracing the functional wellness trend. This summer, the brand launched Welch’s Probiotic Yogofruits—a non-GMO, corn syrup-free snack with three grams of fiber—marking its first drop in the yogurt snack category. Earlier this year, Welch’s also announced that it had phased out artificial dyes across its products as that health conversation gained support online, and is adding more zero-sugar offerings to its lineup. These shifts are part of Welch’s broader effort to attract Gen Z, who is increasingly prioritizing snacks that support functional wellness without skipping out on taste. To meet young people where they’re at, Welch’s also hosted pop-ups at the Gov Ball music festival and plans to have activations, creator partnerships, and nationwide sweepstakes for Lollapalooza.
