Some young people are obsessed with film photography. The analog trend continues! Last year, 35% of 42M active film camera users worldwide were 18-30-year-olds. And in 2024, online searches for analog photography saw a 41% rise while various brands released new film camera models to keep up with demand. One driver is that young people are using analog photography—going out to shoot, then heading to a development studio—as a way to create a “third place.” The hobby also feeds into Gen Z’s growing love for analog experiences, like going to photography events or even just the thoughtful act of taking film photos over endless digital shots. YPulse data shows that 75% of 18-24-year-olds say they want to go more analog this year and take up more offline hobbies. (The Independent)
