Sephora is rolling out store quiet hours.

Jun 29 2026

Sephora is rolling out store quiet hours. In an effort to be more inclusive of neurodivergent shoppers, the brand will turn down music and screen brightness in stores every Tuesday and Thursday between 10 a.m. and noon. A study from last year showed that Gen Z is the most neurodiverse gen, with 50% identifying as autistic or having ADHD. In turn, many seek out sensory-friendly environments that accommodate their different thinking, communication, and processing styles through a chiller in-store vibe. Sephora is not the only retailer to take on this kind of initiative—since 2023, Walmart has had sensory-friendly store hours between 8-10 a.m., during which they turn off music, lower the lights, and change TV walls to static images.
