A Gen Z creator went viral for asking their Hinge dates for family recipes. Zoe Zannos felt inspired by their upbringing and creativity to start a social media project that wasn’t related to schoolwork. They decided to start documenting their dates, where Zannos would cook and share cultural meals, which turned into a zine called Cook Me Something Nice. Through the process, they have made everything from mezze in Istanbul to potato dumplings in Prague and developed connections with people from around the world—although not all the partnerships were romantic. Zannos’ following grew to 22K and their DMs have since exploded with potential matches sharing their cultural meals and inviting them over for dinner. (Bon Appétit)
