England’s flag has a reputation problem among Gen Z.

Apr 29 2026

England’s flag has a reputation problem among Gen Z. St. George’s flag has become associated with far-right movements and nationalism, which has made young people hesitant to wear or display the flag; This issue is also a reflection of young people’s larger perception of the country. Still, brands like Brandy Melville and Ralph Lauren continue incorporating the flag in their globally marketed pieces, even in U.K. stores. (The Independent)
