Gen Z men are also stressed about infertility. A new Cosmopolitan survey shows that among Gen Z, the majority think that fertility is the responsibility of both men and women—a more equal relationship expectation than older gens may have had. Gen Z men who want kids are also twice as likely as older men to feel pressure to have kids from their partners and themselves. Young women who want kids seem to feel far less internalized pressure about having kids. However, they think more about and feel more burdened about fertility, and are more likely to talk to doctors about their concerns. YPulse data shows that more than half of 20-29-year-olds are interested in having kids—even if their timeline falls behind previous gens because of rising costs of living, student loans, and even concerns about the state of the world.
