A third of Gen Z…believes they have psychic abilities.A new study by Talker Research shows 19% of Americans believe they are “basically psychic”—and that number jumped to 30% among Gen Z respondents. According to the survey, Gen Z said they experience intuitive moments almost twice as often as Boomers, though that means only one or two times a month. At the same time, 35% of all respondents said they don’t feel confident in differentiating between a gut feeling and anxiety—which is a key insight. With their fears about the state of the world and metaphysical trends online potentially guiding them, it’s clear that young people are just craving a sense of control in their lives. YPulse data has shown in the past that nearly half of Gen Z and Millennials partake in some kind of mystical activity like astrology, crystals, and tarot cards—but that doesn’t mean they see themselves as psychic.
