Virgin Voyages and TikTok sent more than 1K influencers on a cruise. The brands are pushing the cruise experience as post-worthy by including sunrise fitness classes and immersive dining experiences, all in just four or five days at sea. The collaboration also featured partnerships with popular brands like Fabletics, Coca-Cola, and Heineken on deck. Like any brand trip, the creators are there to show off all the fun they had, which Virgin is using to rebrand cruises to a new gen of younger travelers. Doing influencer trips right has been difficult for brands in recent years, often getting pushback from followers saying they’re tired of seeing the biggest creators getting multiple free vacations. But YPulse data also shows that young people turn to their favorite influencers for travel inspiration, whether it’s tips, deals, or hacks—so ultimately, it is a solid bet for promoting the travel itself, not just a product line. (Virgin VoyagesParade)
