Sports and athletes influence how Gen Z sees social issues. New data from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation shows that the majority of Gen Z view sports as an effective way to learn about social issues—and among this group, the majority have even been inspired to take their own action. The vast majority (80%) of respondents in the survey also said they support athletes, coaches, and teams talking about important issues, with strong support especially for addressing racism and discrimination. YPulse data shows that young people expect public figures to talk about social issues, including athletes. Brands can confidently root athletic campaigns in identity, activism, and meaningful conversations that truly resonate with Gen Z to make a legitimate impact. (The Gist)
