Gen Z is at the center of the tech and science boom in the U.K. In a rare bright spot among the typical doom and gloom of job-related headlines, a new report by Employment Hero found that young people are dominating employment and wage growth in the tech and science industries. Gen Z employment in those sectors is reportedly up 14% year-on-year, while they also had 9.9% year-on-year wage growth—the strongest of any generation. Employment Hero attributes these numbers in part to AI, saying that the technology has allowed for new roles—not role cutting—and advantages for those workers who were quick to learn and adopt AI tools. While AI is generally seen as a hazard to early-career positions, the science and tech sectors are potentially showing a different story. (Employment Hero)
