Gen Z musicians are not thrilled about using AI tools for music.

Gen Z musicians are not thrilled about using AI tools for music. A new survey by Muse Group found that 18-24-year-old musicians are the most skeptical demographic about it. Only 14% of Gen Z musicians feel excited about the use of AI tools in music creation and show the highest concern for AI tools’ integration compared to any other demographic. While not all young musicians are against the tech, many do push back on the idea that AI can replace their work—and almost all musicians overall surveyed were against AI generating music by itself. YPulse’s 2025 Music report shows that AI is changing the way young people discover and listen to music, and AI music did gain popularity over the last year. However, most of the time, those tracks are related to online jokes and memes more so than serious favorites. (Hypebot)
