Are Millennials having a pop culture moment?

Mar 31 2026

Are Millennials having a pop culture moment? According to Business Insider, all signs point to yes. With the resurgence of Y2K Juicy Couture and low-rise jeans, an approaching Laguna Beach reunion, and a TikTok-fueled comeback for Hilary Duff, it seems that pop culture is catering right to Millennials at the moment. After all, Millennials account for 28% of U.S. retail spending and hold $1.1T in spending power. But brands appealing to this generation are also relying on the fact that the Millennials dance on both sides of the analog and digital worlds, with a stronger connection to traditional advertising than Gen Z. Millennials have been shaped by both online and IRL experiences to be nostalgic for, giving brands an opportunity to create campaigns that feel authentic and exciting, without over-relying on recent virality to carry the message.
