UGG’s new campaign is highlighting handmade craftsmanship—a.k.a. human-made. YPulse has told you about brands taking a counter-AI stance in their marketing to earn the trust of young people wanting to support real people behind brands. UGG is joining the group with a new ad that has a heavy focus on its handmade elements. Inspired by movies like Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, the spot features comedian Atsuko Okatsuka stomping through a practically-crafted miniature LA littered with UGG references, all while wearing the fluffy slides the brand is bringing back for a limited time. The camera closely zooms in on a painted cinema building front, tiny cups falling over in the Fluff Diner, newspapers blowing off The Daily Fluff stand, and more clearly painstakingly made crafts. In addition to the ad’s miniature highlights, the brand is running a movie theater themed pop-up complete with a jumbo shoe photo-op, branded snacks, and more. (Marketing Dive)
