AI chatbots are now citing YouTube more than Reddit and it might push long form back to a top priority.

AI chatbots are now citing YouTube more than Reddit and it might push long form back to a top priority. New data from Bluefish shows 16% of large language model answers over the past six months contained information from YouTube, compared to 10% with info from Reddit. That’s a big shift considering last year, Reddit was the most common source for chatbots like ChatGPT to pull from and site. But as LLMs get better at parsing video, YouTube’s library of long-form explainers is beginning to win out. Now, TikTok and Instagram are encouraging creators to go longer as part of chasing those AI citations. (Tubefilter)
