Partiful is officially throwing their hat in the dating app ring.

Partiful is officially throwing their hat in the dating app ring. The platform recently rolled out “Crush,” a feature that lets users signal romantic interest in those invited to the same events. When they “Crush” on someone, their crush gets a notification that a fellow partygoer is interested, but not of exactly who. If they “Crush” back, they’re both notified it’s a match. There’s no profile to optimize and no algorithm to game—just a lightweight way to follow up on a real-life spark. It makes sense that Gen Z’s favorite party app would make this move, as YPulse has reported Gen Z is gravitating toward hobby-based apps as social networks. These platforms offer something traditional platforms don’t: built-in mutual connections and lower stakes for showing off. Partiful already had the ingredients with their event pages that double as group chats and RSVPs that function like casual check-ins. Think of this new feature as a modern “poke”: low-effort, plausibly deniable, and just flirty enough to get the conversation started. (Business Insider)
