Topgolf turned a TikTok comment into a viral win. Back in December, a random user posted a video of collapsed nets at a Michigan location. And, unexpectedly, commenters rallied around the reply from a guy named Logan Phillips: “They better have that fixed by January 9th my work Christmas party is there.” The comment snowballed, and other users started demanding corporate get involved. Some joked about hiring lawyers, and the internet declared Logan “the one person you don’t cancel on.” The comment snowballed—generating 9M views for the TikTok—and other users started demanding corporate get involved. Topgolf quickly leaned in, posting construction updates captioned, “working overtime to make sure we’re open for Logan’s work Christmas party.” When the nets were fixed, workers held a sign reading “4 LOGAN.” The posts about Logan earned over 16M cumulative views—and massive positive support for TopGolf being a brand that knew when to play along.
