Gen Z wants to retire at 59-years-old, but expects to actually work until 67. That eight-year gap between ideal and expected retirement age is the largest of any generation, according to a new Manulife John Hancock Retirement survey. Millennials show a similar pattern, hoping to retire at 61-years-old but expecting 69. But despite their perceptions, the data looking ahead tell a different story: a Vanguard analysis found that Gen Z and Millennials actually have the highest proportion of people considered prepared for retirement of all generations. According to Vanguard, young people have more access to workplace 401(k)s than Boomers did at the same age, plus decades of compound interest working in their favor. (Investopedia)
