Gen Z is driving two thirds of Pinterest’s predicted trends for 2026.

Gen Z is driving two thirds of Pinterest’s predicted trends for 2026. Pinterest’s annual Predicts report dropped this week, which boasts an 88% accuracy rate from previous years. The report analyzes 80B monthly searches to forecast what’s coming up next in trends. According to Pinterest, Gen Z respondents were 38% more likely than other users to say they’ve embraced self-expression with the goal to stay emotionally connected and creatively fulfilled—which is showing up in trends built around identity curation on the app. They say to expect “Glitchy Glam” (mismatched manicures, two-toned lipstick), “Poetcore” (vintage blazers, messenger satchels), and gummy aesthetics like bendy phone cases and 3D jewelry popping up. Even escapism trends are looking different: Gen Z and Millennials are swapping beach vacations for “Darecations” (adrenaline-fueled trips like river rafting) and going “Extra Celestial” with intergalactic styles when earthly escapes aren’t enough.
