Fortnite turned the entire island into Springfield, and Gen Z is eating it up. For the first time in eight years, Epic Games transformed the entire Battle Royale Island at once, to launch a new collab with The Simpsons. Positioned as a test of the Disney-Epic universe, the month-long crossover links four Disney+ Simpsons mini-episodes to an intentionally smaller 80-player Springfield in Fortnite, all so gameplay matches the series’ tighter, gag-driven pace. The map is complete with Springfield’s nuclear power plant, Kwik-E-Mart, and the family’s iconic living room. And players who link Disney accounts get freebies in the game, while the battle pass features Homer, Marge, Flanders, and Simpsons–ified versions of classic Fortnite characters to play as. For Gen Z, successful collaborations can be limited pop-ups, but fully committing to the brand and rewarding players who show up every week to watch the story unfold keeps them invested.
