Gen Z’s new humble brag is getting cosmetic work, which they post live updates on.

Gen Z’s new humble brag is getting cosmetic work, which they post live updates on. After years of Zoom and TikTok putting faces under a mirrored microscope, Gen Z is viewing “small” procedures as maintenance and being open about it. One Manhattan plastic surgeon says about 30% of his patients are Gen Z, and many are asking to share their own clinical before-and-afters. Subtle tweaks are trending, like the 30-minute “tip stitch” nose lift that went viral on TikTok last winter. Celebs like Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence now frame procedures as routine “upkeep” too, earning points for honesty and promoting similar habits at once. But as social media normalizes procedures for younger audiences, experts say guardrails are important, like limits on Botox for women in their 20s and doctors refusing tagging on socials to protect client privacy.
