Reading Rainbow is returning for a new generation after nearly 20 years. The announcement dropped on Instagram on Monday, promising new episodes, fresh faces, and of course, plenty of new books. The revival premieres on Oct. 4 on KidZuko, a YouTube channel from Sony, starting with four short-form episodes plus companion vertical videos. (Exactly how the next gen consumes content!) This time around, the show will be hosted by Mychel Threets, known as Mykel the Librarian on TikTok, who went viral back in 2023 for his uplifting videos about the joy of reading. The series will also feature young guest stars, celebrity book narrators, and creative activities like making sidewalk libraries.
