Swifties crashed the AMC app as Showgirl presales hit $15M in a day.

Swifties crashed the AMC app as Showgirl presales hit $15M in a day. Taylor Swift’s The Official Release Party of a Showgirl is breaking the internet, weeks ahead of its screening. Swifties swarmed the AMC app at the 12:12 p.m. ticket drop, getting many stuck in endless “two-minute wait” queues while scrambling for seats. (Surely reminding them of similar Ticketmaster battles.) Unlike the record-shattering Eras Tour, this project is more of an album launch party, running one-weekend-only (Oct. 3–5). Still, it’s projected to open between $30M–$50M. Fans get the music video premiere of “Fate of Ophelia,” behind-the-scenes footage, lyric videos, and Swift’s own reflections on her 12th studio album. With cheaper tickets and hundreds of locations to attend in the U.S. alone, Showgirl is chasing box office records (already marking AMC’s sixth-biggest presale) and event-ifying the album.
