Lush shut its stores for one day as an act of political protest. The British cosmetics retailer is known for being an activist brand, mainly for anti-animal testing. But last Wednesday, it temporarily closed all operations to protest what it calls a man-made famine in Gaza and to pressure the U.K. government to stop selling arms to Israel. Lush displayed “stop starving Gaza” messages in stores and online, while acknowledging customer inconvenience for being shut. (BBC)
