TikTok is launching a “Campus Verification” feature for college students. The tool is giving college students their own corner of the app—like how Facebook first started out back in 2004. With this update, students can verify their enrollment, add their school to their profile, and instantly connect with classmates through school-specific pages. They’ll be able to filter by graduation year, browse who else is on campus, and even see which students are the most followed. Through a built-in partnership with UNiDAYS, Campus Verification is rolling out to 6K U.S. universities in hopes of making it easy for students to meet each other beyond dorm rooms or classes. Tons of other, smaller platforms have attempted this over the years, but for TikTok, it works off the app’s role as Gen Z’s go-to platform already. (Mashable)
