Skechers released a line of kids’ shoes with a hidden compartment for Apple AirTags, and it’s sparking debate. While the brand says the new feature helps parents locate lost sneakers, it will of course be used to track their kids. Critics are calling it a sign of “surveillance parenting,” arguing that it replaces trust with constant monitoring. Others, especially parents of kids with special needs, defend it as a safety tool. YPulse data shows 67% of Millennial and Gen Z parents already track their children’s locations, often using apps like Life360, Find My, or Google Family Link. And while only 11% say they’re helicopter parenting, knowing where their kids are through phones, watches, and even shoes doesn’t seem to conflict with that directly for them. (Daily Dot)
