Crocs is opening “Icon” stores to create a more personalized shopping experience. The first of these locations just opened in NYC, and is nearly triple the size of a typical Crocs store. The space showcases an expanded product assortment, exclusive city-themed Jibbitz charms—inside a bodega, of course—and custom colorways and charm bars aimed at encouraging self-expression. It could be a winning move to score Gen Z consumers as YPulse data shows 89% of young people are interested in product customization and 65% would like brands to make more customizable options. More Icon stores are set to roll out in other high-traffic cities, offering early product access and events for the brand’s huge fanbase. (Modern Retail)
