Bluey is seeing massive success, and wants to keep targeting adult fans. YPulse’s Kidulting trend report told you just how much Bluey has become a viral sensation, with young adults just as obsessed with the show as kids thanks to its real-life themes. The beloved blue dog has created “endless money-spinning opportunities for the BBC,” which is why they’re now aiming to turn Bluey into an “all encompassing lifestyle brand for all ages.” BBC Studios has already seen £2.7B in global retail sales across their portfolio, and they claim Bluey is a “really, really big chunk of that.” Bluey-inspired merch like paddling pools, games, lunch boxes, and more are already a hit among young adult fans, and the show has almost 5M followers on TikTok—clearly not all from toddlers. They are even releasing a Blueymovie in 2027 and a Bluey theatre production has opened in Queensland. Still, the BBC says they have much more growing to do in the adult space, and we know young adults will be waiting on it. (The Guardian)
