Gen Z can’t get enough of the hilarious “wedding lineup” videos on TikTok. Instead of ring inspiration or wedding dress advice, young people on TikTok are joking about their “wedding lineup song,” and in true Gen Z fashion, posting the most ridiculous wedding songs they can think of—from “Swish Swish” by Katy Perry to Soulja Boy’s “Crank That (Soulja Boy)”. The high energy tracks they’re choosing would make it impossible for their bridesmaids and groomsmen to walk down the aisle, but they’re showing how they would want them to enter anyway. The trend (definitely made for the chronically online), arose after user @fabhann posted a genuine “here’s what my wedding song would be” video to the fast-paced track “Ordinary” by Alex Warren. Commenters didn’t hold back, with one commenting “Is everyone running down the aisle????” and another saying, “By chance will your bridesmaids be Usain Bolt and Sha ‘Carri Richardson?” Gen Z took off with the idea from there, turning sweet wedding inspo into an unhinged trend.
