Teens that are regulars at the shop don’t necessarily order the drink for the matcha taste (which is known for being bitter), but instead love the lattes for their sweet, syrupy flavors like strawberry shortcake and banana bread. Of course, social media is influencing teens to visit the shop— creative director Mohammad Rabaa says his team markets their drinks “in a hyper-specific way,” envisioning its young customers’ personality and preferences.
