The Netflix drama Adolescence is being shown in French schools to address online misogyny and teen violence. The British series follows a 13-year-old boy who fatally stabbed a female classmate after being influenced by toxic online content, and has sparked international debate since it was released. Now, the French Education Ministry is using scenes from the show to lead classroom discussions about the dangers of screen overexposure, radicalized influencers, and the normalization of violence on social media. Aimed at students 14-years-and-older, the lessons are designed to get teens thinking critically about the content they consume and how it shapes their views on gender, power, and identity.
