The biggest console gamers are also the youngest. A new survey from ESA found that while everyone knows Gen Alpha as iPad babies, tweens are actually the most likely age group to play video games on console. It found 69% of 8-12-year-olds play games on console, +4pts more than 13-28-year-olds and +9pts more than 29-44-year-olds. Surprisingly, they’re not the biggest user group of mobile games, actually falling second to Gen X (45-60-years-old). The study also found parents in the U.S. say their kids prefer gaming to social media, and half of parents are playing video games with their kids on a weekly basis. (Kidscreen)
