Gen Z is willing to give up remote work to score a job.

May 23 2025

Gen Z is willing to give up remote work to score a job. According to a report from career platform Flexa, in March, 12% fewer Gen Z prioritized location flexibility compared to earlier in the year, making them the least likely age group to want fully remote roles—only 24% expressed interest compared to 35% of Gen X. This shift is likely due to a tightening labor market, increasing layoff anxiety, and growing competition for limited opportunities—particularly among new grads and currently remote workers, who report higher levels of anxiety than their on-site peers, according to a Clarify Capital survey.
