Gen Z could be ditching vapes for a new vice: nicotine pouches. YPulse has reported before on the rise of brands like ZYN as yet another nicotine vice for young people, in place of cigarettes. These tiny, tobacco-free packets come in flavors like berry and mint and are blowing up on social media, with even teens swapping flavor recs. What’s driving the youngest users is that they’re super discreet and don’t leave a cloud of smoke like normal vapes do, making them easy to hide in schools and even go unnoticed around parents. However, while young consumers see them as a cleaner option than vaping, experts warn that nicotine pouches are far from harmless. They can still cause addiction, gum irritation, and long-term effects on the heart, lungs, and immune system. (Unilad)
