Walmart is facing a week-long boycott. Like with the recent viral boycott on Target, shoppers are protesting the rollback of its DEI policies. The boycott, organized by The People’s Union USA, runs through April 14 and includes Walmart stores (online shopping, too), Sam’s Club, and even private-label brands like Great Value and Equate. With thousands of locations across the country, the impact could be widespread. And if you’re wondering, the Target boycott is still going on too, as part of a 40-day protest that wraps up on April 17. YPulse data shows 34% of 13-39-year-olds, and 40% of 18-24-year-olds specifically, have boycotted a brand in the past year because it doesn’t support a cause they’re passionate about, so there’s a significant number of young consumers potentially willing to participate in these efforts.
