Amazon Haul is taking on Shein and Temu. After launching the competitor to budget online retailers like Temu in November 2024, Amazon’s CEO says that the affordable shopping experience is “off to a very strong start.” A survey by Omnisend found 16% of U.S. respondents use Amazon Haul at least monthly, compared to 23% using Shein and 28% using Temu. And while Retail Dive calls this “slow progress,” Amazon has consumer trust and competitive pricing (Amazon is the top mobile shopping app for Gen Z and Millennials, according to YPulse). With plans to expand and its existing reputation for reliability, Amazon still has the potential to carve out its space if it can offer shoppers a reason to choose Haul over its rivals. However, rising tariffs on Chinese imports and a shift toward American-made goods could further challenge Amazon Haul’s growth. (Retail Dive)
