Most British Gen Z would want to keep their children off social media as long as possible. Because Gen Z grew up with social media, they know very well about its negative effects. So, it’s no surprise that a new study by The New Britain Project found that the majority of Gen Z support stricter rules on social media to protect mental health. Over 60% of 16-24-year-olds believe social media does more harm than good, and 55% say it has worsened in the last five years. A whooping 78% of Gen Z also say if they were a parent they would try to delay their child using social media for as long as possible. The research comes as British MPs prepare to debate the Safer Phones Bill, which aims to boost smartphone safety for children. (LBC)
