Gen Z’s newest trend to romanticize their life is being more “whimsical.” A recent TikTok asked the “girlies” what “cute little habits” they have to make life more whimsical—as in, make their day a little brighter in small ways. Over 50K commentors responded, sharing everything from speaking to inanimate objects (like telling their dirty dishes “bath time!”) to having jokes with their pets. Another creator who asked about adding whimsy to their day recently got tons of responses about small accessories and makeup routines, as well as unexpected moments to add positive affirmations into their lives. The “whimsy” thousands of young women especially are sharing is both aesthetic and parts of private routines that make regular days feel more special, something YPulse has seen Gen Z look for over and over.
