Dublin is at the center of the viral “Cherry Tomato mania.” A TikTok trend began when one user took a video of frozen cherry tomatoes that were stuck to a small bridge in the Irish capital during a cold snap. Gen Z have since turned the site into a weird “shrine,” adding more tomatoes, ketchup, candles, and even frames, with videos showing them singing and dancing on the bridge. Dubbed #CherryTomatoBridge, it’s now a quirky tourist spot marked on Google Maps, and similar videos are emerging from places worldwide like Brooklyn Bridge in NYC. Dublin City Council has called to stop food offerings, for obvious sanitary reasons, and is now even conducting daily clean-ups. (The Irish Times)
