Safe zones are now in place outside of abortion clinics in the U.K.

Nov 06 2024

Safe zones are now in place outside of abortion clinics in the U.K. A new law voted in last year is creating 150-meter-long buffer zones around these facilities to protect patients and staff from harassment or unwanted presence. However, on the first day of the new law last week, anti-abortion activists gathered outside clinics in England, which drew attention to potential conflicts and intimidation. Many people support the law as a vital step to protect reproductive rights, but others argue that it limits free speech. (The Guardian)
