Gen Z on TikTok have just discovered Trump’s Access Hollywood audio clip.

Nov 04 2024

Gen Z on TikTok have just discovered Trump’s Access Hollywood audio clip. While the infamous “grab them” comment first circulated eight years ago, it’s getting renewed virality thanks to a post from an account called Republican Voters Against Trump. And though it may come as shock, many first-time Gen Z voters have truly never heard this before, most because they were too young in 2016 to be keeping up with election news. (Remember, the youngest of 2024’s voters were 10-years-old when this story first broke.) But they’re sharing their reactions now—among the 1300+ videos using the sound, young women especially (but not exclusively) are sharing their disappointment and shock hearing the clip. In particular, one TikTok re-using the audio with the caption “Fathers are voting for this man” has struck a chord, pulling 3.2M views and potentially reaching another 68M followers when Billie Eilish shared it.
