Fertility rates in the U.K. hit an all-time low (again). Like the U.S., France, and many other developed countries, the U.K. is experiencing a major slope in birth rates. The latest government figures show that the average number of babies is now 1.44 children per woman—the lowest figure since 1938, when the country officially started recording birth rates. At the same time, parents keep getting older: the average age for moms is now 30.9 and 33.8 for dads. (The Telegraph)
