In Spain, the latest dating trend is to hold a pineapple in a supermarket. The “pineapple-gate” started with a TikTok video from the Spanish actor Vivy Lin with the tagline “The time to hook up in Mercadona is 7pm to 8pm.” The concept is weird but simple: single people can show up at their local supermarkets in the evening and indicate they’re open to date by holding a pineapple upside down in the wine section of the mercadona. The pineapple trend quickly went viral and supermarkets are now struggling with the influx of young people hanging out in supermarkets in the evening. (Republic World)
