Kamala Harris could turn the youth vote around for Democrats. YPulse’s data affirmed what many sources were seeing going into this election cycle—that once more liberal leaning young voters have drifted moderate. But these same voters seem to have a renewed energy for voting Democrat now that Harris has taken Biden’s position, which our data also affirms. While Biden lagged behind Trump for young people’s voting intent, Harris now appears to have a strong lead for even those in battleground states. And though young male voters still have a preference toward voting for Trump, which YPulse data again confirms, there’s potential Harris may even be more popular among this base than Biden was.
