The Olympics had a dedicated space for nursing mothers and child carers. The exclusion of children from the Olympic village during the Tokyo Olympics has led the IOC and Paris 2024 to establish a dedicated space for children and mothers for the first time. The space provided privacy for breastfeeding mothers, along with diaper-changing facilities and play areas. Many athletes who are mothers or expecting children have been advocating for this for a while now due to having to separate from their children and partner in past Olympics. And even though this is a step in the right direction, athletes with children would like to see more accessibility and accommodations ahead of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. (BBC)
