Parents are not happy with back-to-school costs this year. Many parents have taken to TikTok to show their frustrations and share their shopping experiences for the season, with some spending over $1K on school supplies. A recent survey found that 70% of parents believe schools ask them to purchase too many items and 52% feel that their spending will exceed last year’s costs. Last week, we reported that this year’s BTS shopping prices are projected to reach $38.8B, making it the second highest amount ever recorded, following last year at number one. As a result, parents are resorting to saving coupons, shopping later in the season for discounts, or even opening new credit cards to access deals on essential school items. (Motherly)
