According to a recent survey of homeowners and renters, 91% of Gen Z consider housing affordability to be a top issue influencing their decision when casting their vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, compared to 80% of all gens saying so. With this gap, it’s the top issue shaping their vote as buying a home continues to feel out of reach for young gens, whereas older gens are focused on β€œoverall economic health.” But as the 2024 presidential election approaches, both Joe Biden and Donald Trump have addressed the concerns of housing affordability, proposing their strategies / plans to combat the expensive housing market, no doubt aiming to appeal to these voters.
