The NCAA is paying billions to settle antitrust claims.

Jun 03 2024

The NCAA is paying billions to settle antitrust claims. After a debate over college sports providing better benefits to student athletes, the NCAA and conferences will pay out approximately $2.77B over the next decade to over 14K former and current college athletes. These athletes have been granted a major victory, as they will now receive fair compensation for their work, which was previously prohibited by the NCAA’s now-repealed rules. And looking forward, student athletes will finally get a slice of the financial rewards they generate for their schools. (NPR)
