The latest Taking Stock with Teens survey revealed that 32% of teens use Facebook on a monthly basis, whereas 80% use Instagram and 72% use TikTok. To attract more young creators back to Facebook, the company has invested in enhancing its video capabilities through Reels (currently young people spend 60% of their time on the app watching short videos) and optimizing its search functionality. Facebook is also capitalizing on the well-established trend of college students using the platform to find roommates, friends, and post items for sale on Marketplace, particularly when they’re moving.
